We are pleased to announce that we are changing our name to Deep Tech Canada. We have expanded our mandate to leverage our strengths, incredible members, and community for a broader impact. We will announce some exciting projects and opportunities in the coming weeks. Our vision is to continue to serve our community and create meaningful collisions of sectors and technologies that will impact health, climate action, communication, agri-tech, and transportation. We look forward to expanding our reach to further support Canada’s incredible innovation ecosystem. In 2023 we will be hosting consultation meetings to further develop and build a robust Canadian deep tech ecosystem. Are you interested in contributing, partnering, or connecting with us? We want to hear from you.

Global investment in Deep Tech has grown by 22% a year over the past five years and is now over $20 billion. Canada has a strong history of visionary investment in emerging technologies. The time has come to integrate emerging technologies as deep tech opportunities, thus multiplying the impact of national investments and enabling Canadian companies to compete more effectively in the global marketplace. These efforts will create jobs, help companies scale up quickly, and clear the innovation path from ideation to commercialization.

We look forward to curating events with our partners to create these meaningful collisions. We look forward to providing our members with international investment and trade opportunities and to showcasing Canadian innovators on the global stage.

Thank you to our members, funders, and partners for your incredible support!

Innovation at the Edges

Deep tech is often cultivated by scientific innovation and meaningful engineering innovation. Examples include cleantech, agtech, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, nanotechnology, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology. Deep technologies are novel and lend themselves to cross disciplinary and cross sectoral approaches that are needed for today’s climate change and regenerative sustainability issues.
